Ipswich Town will be playing Premier League football next season.
The Tractor Boys were only promoted from League One last season, but have enjoyed an excellent season in England’s second tier.
Ahead of the final day of the Championship season, they knew that anything but a defeat would confirm back-to-back promotions for the first time in their history and would see them become just the fifth side to achieve the feat.
And a first half goal from Wes Burns combined with an excellent goal from loanee Omari Hutchinson ensured that they did just that against Huddersfield Town, meaning that Kieran McKenna’s side joined Leicester City in the automatic promotion spots, consigning Leeds United to the play-offs in a bid to join them.
It represents a major achievement for the Portman Road side, who were last in the Premier League in 2002. Now, they will be rubbing shoulders with giants once more.
