The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have reached a final decision on the future of João Félix.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards the Blaugrana as being primed to part ways with their on-loan frontman in the summer.

Félix, for his part, of course linked up with Barca from La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid ahead of the campaign getting underway.

The Portuguese has since gone on to endure something of a hit-and-miss stint in Catalunya, racking up 16 goal contributions across 41 appearances to date.

And yet, amid competition from the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, Félix has never quite managed to establish himself as a guaranteed starter in the frontline of boss Xavi.

Until now, it had nevertheless been widely reported in the media that Deco and co. would seek out an avenue by which to bring the 24-year-old back for next season.

But, as per the aforementioned Marca, in fact, this will not prove to be the case.

The Blaugrana board are understood to have made clear to their counterparts in Spain’s capital that they do not intend to seek out either a new loan, or a permanent deal for Félix.

As much, of course, means that the frontman is primed to head back to Atlético, a blow for both parties amid their ongoing efforts to part ways once and for all.
