It is of course common knowledge that a change at the helm at the Camp Nou is currently being taken into serious consideration.

Just weeks on from his position for 2024/25 being confirmed, Xavi’s continuity has been thrown back up in the air, owing to comments made during a recent press conference.

With several Blaugrana board members understood to be furious with their side’s headmaster, he could well be sent packing upon the season’s close.

So, just why is the leading candidate to replace the 44-year-old?

As per Jijantes, who discussed the situation on Gerard Romero’s Twitch channel this afternoon, a trio of leading figures in the Blaugrana boardroom have earmarked different options.

For Joan Laporta, the German route remains the most attractive one, placing Hansi Flick and Thomas Tuchel in the driver’s seat.

Sporting director Deco, on the other hand, favours one of Bologna mastermind Thiago Motta or Barca Atlètic leader Rafa Márquez.

And, lastly, vice-president Rafa Yuste is understood to have thrown his backing behind current boss Xavi.
