Wolves demand £60m for Man City and Newcastle target Pedro Neto | OneFootball

Wolverhampton Wanderers are braced for bids for their exciting winger Pedro Neto but will not let the Portuguese forward leave without a fight.

According to the Telegraph, Wolves have placed a £60 million asking price on Neto, which could see him become the club’s most expensive player sale.

Wolves were picked apart after surviving relegation last season, with Matheus Nunes, Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez, Nathan Collins and Conor Coady leaving the club.

Nunes joined Premier League champions Manchester City in a club-record £53m deal, eclipsing the £47m Wolves received from Neves’ move to Al-Hilal.

They are looking to secure a similar high-profile transfer fee for another one of their prized assets, who is attracting plenty of interest from clubs in the country.

Wolves sanctioned an exodus last summer, raising around £140m in player sales in a desperate bid to avoid breaching the Premier League’s Profit & Sustainability Rules.

Given that Neto’s contract has three years left to run, Wolves are under no immediate pressure to sell, so they’re likely to hold out for the highest possible fee.

The Portugal international is subject to interest from Man City and Newcastle United, although the latter are believed to be concerned about his injury history.

The 24-year-old’s campaign was disrupted by two separate hamstring injuries.

He missed 27 games for club and country last season and an astonishing 52 the previous campaign, yet despite his hugely concerning injury record, Wolves believe his value is still high.

Neto is arguably one of the best wingers in the Premier League when he’s not injured, bagging three goals and 11 assists in 24 games across all competitions.

However, Wolves’ demands for the former SC Braga prodigy could ward off interested clubs.
