A goal on derby day at the Etihad Stadium has seen Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw become Manchester City Women’s standalone all-time top goalscorer.

Shaw had equalled Georgia Stanway’s 67-goal record in last week’s 4-1 win over Brighton but it is a goal against Manchester United that has now seen her make history.

After just 34 seconds of the second half, Shaw broke into the United box and coolly slotted home from close range.

That strike saw the Jamaica international move onto 68 goals for City in her 78th appearances for the club.

Shaw netted a club record 31 goals in a single season in 2022/23, and has 17 goals to date this season.

Pipped to the WSL golden boot by Rachel Daly a year ago, the striker has the most goals of any player in the WSL in 2023/24 as City chase a first league title since 2016.
