La Liga giants Real Madrid on Wednesday enjoyed yet another memorable night on the continent.

As much, of course, comes after Carlo Ancelotti’s troops welcomed German heavyweights Bayern Munich to the Spanish capital, for the 2nd leg of the Champions League semi-final tie between the clubs.

When all was said and done in a pulsating affair, it was the hosts who emerged on the right side of the result, in the process booking their spot in the Champions League showpiece.

This comes after a trademark last-gasp comeback, sparked by something of a surprise hero.

After a moment of brilliance on the part of Alphonso Davies guided Bayern Munich into the lead midway through the 2nd-half, Carlo Ancelotti threw caution to the wind, introducing no fewer than four substitutes.

And one such introduction proved itself to be decisive.

First, after Manuel Neuer spilled Vinícius Jr’s effort from the edge of the penalty area, Joselu was on hand to slot home on the rebound.

And, incredibly, the on-loan Espanyol man was back at it again just minutes later, on this occasion getting on the end of an Antonio Rüdiger delivery from the left.

As much proved enough to guide Real Madrid to a 4-3 aggregate triumph, and a spot in the upcoming Wembley Champions League finale.
