Sheffield United owners decide to keep Beerschot following Pro League promotion

After a year of speculation with many presuming that Beerschot’s majority shareholders, United World, was looking to sell the club, a statement was released stating that they are now committed to staying with the club. The group, who also own Sheffield United, have increased the budget following the clubs promotion to the Pro League. While it is not known how much will be available to spend, the statement claims that it will be enough to meet the challenges of being in the top flight.

This will end speculation around the future of head coach Dirk Kuyt and sporting director Gyorgy Csepregi, who were said to be wanting to leave should there not be more clarity around the future of the club. Csepregi in particular has been a crucial figure in helping the club achieve promotion. There was little budget available for him during the 2023/2024 Challenger Pro League season but he still managed to beat out all the other favourites to win the league.
