Torino boosted their European ambitions with a surprise win over second-placed Milan.
Scorers: Zapata 26′, Ilić 39′, Rodríguez 46′; Bennacer (PEN) 55′
Duván Zapata broke the deadlock midway through the first half when he met Ricardo Rodríguez’s cross from the left with a well-taken header.
Il Toro doubled their lead shortly before the interval as Ivan Ilić met Raoul Bellanova’s cross to send a simple finish past Marco Sportiello.
Rodríguez piled the misery on his former club just a minute after the restart with a stunning long-range strike that cannoned in off the post.
But the visitors were handed a potential lifeline through Ismaël Bennacer’s penalty after Adam Masina had hauled down Christian Pulisic.
Ivan Jurić’s side leapfrogged Napoli into Serie A’s ninth spot, one point off a Europa Conference League place currently occupied by Fiorentina.
