When will the 24/25 Premier League fixtures be announced? | OneFootball

The Premier League have now confirmed when the 2024/25 fixtures will be released, as well as the start and end dates for the season.

The Premier League have confirmed that the fixture list for the 2024/25 season will be released on Tuesday, June 18th at 09:00 BST.

All 380 matches for all 20 teams will be released on that date, with the season set to be played over 33 weekends, four midweeks, and one Bank Holiday Matchweek.

The season will kick off on August 17th, 2024, and it will run until May 25th, 2025.

The Premier League also commits to address the fixture congestion around Christmas and New Year, promising “arrangements will be made to allow more rest time over three of the festive match rounds”.

More specifically, the league vows that no club will play within 60 hours of another match, and there will be no fixtures on Christmas Eve.

The mid-season “winter break” has also been removed from the calendar, with the Premier League pointing out that the league’s start date has been moved back to make for a longer summer break instead.

Arsenal will also be playing in the League Cup, the FA Cup, and the Champions League in 2024/25, with a number of changes made to the latter two competitions.

The FA Cup changes include all FA Cup fixtures being moved to weekends, with those weekends free of Premier League games up until the semi-final.

The FA Cup final will now be played on the penultimate weekend of the Premier League season.

As for the Champions League, the competition is expanding to 36 teams, with every team involved in the competition playing at least eight games in the new “league phase”, which replaces the current group stage.

Given the group stage only had six matches, that means at least an extra two games for every team in the first half of the season.

Teams that finish between 9th and 24th in the league phase will also play an additional two-legged play-off round. So a team reaching the final of the Champions League may have to play an extra four games to get there.
