David Silva made his 250th Premier League appearance for Manchester City on Sunday, but he was having a fantastic day before the game even kicked off.

Last year, Silva’s son Mateo was born prematurely when the Spaniard’s girlfriend Jessica gave birth after just 25 weeks.

The 32-year-old missed a significant chunk of last season when he was forced to travel back and forth to Valencia in order to be by his family’s side.

But before the Premier League champions hosted Huddersfield Town on Sunday, Silva brought Mateo out on to the pitch with him, and the baby boy looks very happy and healthy indeed.

Last week, Silva unveiled the new forearm tattoo he’s had done in tribute to his son, which features the words “Never surrender”.

The dimunitive playmaker was in fine form against the Terriers, and marked his 250th appearance in England’s top flight with a stunning free-kick to make it 4-1 to Pep Guardiola’s side early in the second half.
