Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly confident that Arsène Wenger will be confirmed as their new sporting director in the coming weeks.
The relationship between coach Thomas Tuchel and incumbent Antero Henrique is at a nadir after the January transfer window saw PSG sign just one new midfielder.
“I have my opinions and he has his own,” Tuchel told reporters this week and according to the Times, Henrqiue will be given his marching orders before the end of the month.
Their story indicates that Wenger has already been contacted by the French giants and will hand the former Arsenal manager the lead role in their transfer policy going forward.
Wenger is believed to have been contacted by two other clubs and one national team, but PSG is thought to be the most attractive offer to the 69-year-old.
Tuchel’s side are currently top of Ligue 1 by 10 points and face Manchester United next week in the Champions League last 16.
