City's statistic prove the Blues are the best Premier League team of the past decade according to the collective results of the established top six English teams.

A combined league table from 2009/10 to 2018/19 makes for very pleasant reading.

No flash in the pan. No one-season wonders. No fluke. Just 10 years of consistency and, more often than not, breathtaking football from a side who have earned 53 points more than any other top-flight team since the 2009/10 campaign.

It’s been quite a journey and one that, in many ways, may have only just started.

In a six-team mini-league of the most successful sides of the last 10 years, City sit top with 812 points amassed from 380 games – an average of 81.2 points per campaign.

Next are Manchester United with 759 points and just behind the Reds are Chelsea with 750.

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are fourth and fifth respectively, with the Gunners on 719 and Spurs on 710.

Liverpool are currently in sixth with 688 points from 380 games, some 124 adrift of the Blues since 2009/10.

City’s four Premier League titles in the last 10 years is one more than Chelsea and two more than United.

Of course, nobody with sky blue affiliations is pretending that United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool don’t have fantastic records and could each claim excellent stats decade on decade if you leaf through the record books – but the past 10 years have belonged to City’s various swashbuckling sides.

The Blues have won 247 of those 380 games played since August 2009, drawing 71 and losing just 62 matches.

And 829 goals have been scored by our players, with 346 conceded – a goal difference of 483 – not too shabby!

Our top goal-scorer in that period won’t be a huge surprise with Sergio Aguero’s 164 strikes comfortably out in front.

From this season’s stats, it is worth noting that City’s defending has also been better than ever.

Of the 38 Premier League games played, 20 resulted in a clean sheet for City and a Premier League best of just 23 goals conceded all season was four better than last year’s Centurions managed and six better than the 29 conceded in 2011/12.

Pep Guardiola is also the first City manager in history to win two top-flight titles – a feat no other Blues boss has managed or, indeed, come close to achieving.

And City have set new standards in the past two seasons, winning 198 points from 76 matches, scoring 201 goals and conceding 50.

Ten years, four Premier League titles, four League Cup successes, one FA Cup and a couple of Community Shield victories.
