The race to sign RB Leipzig’s highly-rated striker Benjamin Sesko has taken a new twist, with reports suggesting his release clause is not a fixed amount.

According to Sky Germany, the clause is performance-based. Earlier reports pegged the release clause at €50 million.

However, Sesko’s strong performances in the second half of the season have seen that figure rise to €65m.

The final price could reach €70-€75m depending on his performances in Leipzig’s remaining two games. Factors such as playing time, goals scored and assists provided will influence the final sum.

This news will pique the interest of Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United. All three clubs have been linked with a move for the 20-year-old Slovenian striker.

The Blues are looking to bolster their forward line this summer and have him on their shortlist alongside Victor Osimhen, while Man United want him to provide competition for Rasmus Hojlund.

The former RB Salzburg centre-forward is on Arsenal’s radar this summer as they search for striking reinforcement. AC Milan have also reportedly expressed interest in Sesko.

Sesko has impressed in his first season at Leipzig, racking up 16 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.

He began to pick up steam since the turn of the year, recording ten goals and four assists in his last 19 games for club and country.
