Andre Onana added to the list of untouchables at Manchester United as huge overhaul looms | OneFootball

Manchester United have already undergone an overhaul at the executive level with a pivotal summer ahead of them.

Players are expected to feel the effect of that overhaul in the summer as INEOS start shaping the squad in their vision.

It has already been reported that they would be happy to listen to offers for the majority of the squad, with even captain Bruno Fernandes not off-limits.

Only Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Alejandro Garnacho were reported as the “untouchables” but another player seems to have won himself a place alongside them.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Andre Onana is the new untouchable, with United now open to offer for every player barring this quartet.

The addition of a goalkeeper to those ranks seems sensible, especially with the Cameroonian improving as the season has gone on.

There are huge holes in the squad to overcome elsewhere so spending more on a goalkeeper when they just spent close to £40 million just last summer is not good business sense.

As for the young trio, their presence on the untouchable list explains itself and has been reported earlier as well.

The interesting thing is that United would already be open to offers for pretty much every Erik ten Hag signing, notably Lisandro Martinez and Mason Mount.

While the duo has been plagued by injuries this season, it would be a huge statement of intent and ruthlessness if either is sent packing this soon into their United tenure.

Bruno Fernandes being on the chopping block also contrasts Ten Hag’s statement of the club wanting to keep him as he has kept stressing his importance.

Perhaps this list of players for sale speaks more about the weight of the manager’s words than it does about the standing of the players at Old Trafford.
