A late goal from Memphis Depay secured Atlético de Madrid a spot in the Copa del Rey semi finals.
Scorers: Memphis 79′
Atlético had the chance to give themselves an early lead from the penalty spot after just 26 minutes when Marcão brought down Nahuel Molina in the box.
However, the red hot Antoine Griezmann failed to convert from six yards, slipping in the run up and sending his strike over the crossbar as a result.
Atlético had the better chances but they couldn’t break down Sevilla until late in the second half when Memphis Depay tapped home from close range to seal his side a spot in the semi-finals.
Diego Simeone’s side have won the Copa del Rey 10 times before and will be hoping that this season brings title number eleven, Athletic Club, Real Sociedad and Mallorca their only competition left.
