Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte has admitted he feels flattered by the rumoured interest of Manchester City.
The 23-year-old has been regularly linked with a switch to the Etihad Stadium, having impressed with the Basque outfit ever since his debut for the first team in 2012.
The central defender has been almost ever present for Los Leones since he was teenager, playing 221 times for his boyhood club.
But the France Under-21 international has conceded that he feels honoured to be linked with the current Premier League leaders.
“[City’s interest] gives you reassurance,” he told AS. “I’m grateful that a big club values me and puts me at their level.”
If Pep Guardiola’s side do want to sign Laporte, it will come at a price. His release clause is €70m .
