President Joan Laporta’s desire to follow through on his promise to revamp the squad has only added fuel to the fire.

However, some players are expected to be safe from the chopping block this summer, with the club holding them in particularly high regard.

Pedri Gonzalez is non-transferable

Indeed, according to Alex Pintanel one of the players Barcelona considers to be ‘non-transferable’ within the squad is Pedri Gonzalez.

Recognizing his talents, the Catalan giants are unwilling to entertain any offers for Pedri this summer, deeming him an important piece of the project moving forward.

Pedri missed much of the current season due to injuries, but whenever he got back on the field, he demonstrated his skill, as was testified in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals against PSG.

Needing just a minute to mark his impact, the youngster provided Raphinha with a picture-perfect assist to turn the tides in Barcelona’s favour.

Reports of him being linked with Liverpool were also shut down recently as the player is committed to staying put in Catalonia.

“He is untouchable and fundamental,” club sources say about Pedri.

And should all proceed as planned, Barcelona look forward to keeping Pedri under contract until at least 2028.

Who else do Barcelona consider non-transferable?

According to a prior report, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Gavi, Lamine Yamal, and Pau Cubarsi are among the players likely to remain with the Blaugranes next season.

Barça’s approach thus indicates that they prioritize building a team with a young core, and apart from the aforementioned names, offers could be studied for most of the other players.
