Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs expressing interest in Franco Mastantuono. Despite being just 16 years old, the midfielder is catching the eye of several top European clubs, but one team might be out of the race.

Other clubs vying for the midfielder are FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, but the Catalan side are reportedly out of the race for the Argentine right now before the race even heats up this summer.

According to SPORT (h/t Diario AS), Barcelona falls behind in the fight for Mastantuono because its objective is to adjust the budget and comply with the 1-1 rule.

Furthermore, the Spanish media outlet notes that competitors, including Real Madrid, are stepping up their efforts to secure the Argentine gem. The teenager currently has a release clause that stands at €45 million, so it will take a significant sum to get him out of River Plate.

It’s important to mention that this figure could increase to €50 million if the player leaves River Plate just ten days before the transfer window closes.
