The home crowd in attendance at Barcelona’s meeting with Valencia on Monday night made use of the opportunity to send a message of support to head coach Xavi.

This, of course, comes fresh off the 44-year-old’s place on the Barcelona bench for next season being confirmed.

After previously announcing back in January his intention to step down from his post in the summer, Xavi, last week, was at last convinced to go back on his decision, by Blaugrana president Joan Laporta.

The Spanish tactician, as a result, will remain in charge on the touchline in Catalunya’s capital for the 2024/25 campaign.

And, as alluded to above, late this evening, sections of the Barcelona fanbase made clear their delight with such news.

Late in the club’s 4-2 La Liga downing of Valencia, chants of ‘Xavi, Xavi, Xavi’ were heard raining down from the stands at Montjuïc.

A no doubt deeply appreciated gesture for the oft-divisive former Blaugrana midfielder.
