Speaking to journalists after Bayern’s 2-2 draw with Real Madrid, Bayern president Herbert Hainer confirmed this: “We are in good talks with Ralf, but we have to wait a few more days. He’s an excellent expert on the football scene. If it happens, he’s a very good choice”

While sporting director Christoph Freund did not rule out an announcement before the return leg: “I would not rule that out”

Rangnick will then likely take over after the Euros where he will lead Austria in a group of death with France, Netherlands and Poland.

Bayern turned to the former RB Leipzig, Schalke and Hoffenheim manager after Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann both turned them down to stay at their current jobs.
