The German Football League could be set to abandon Monday night games in the Bundesliga.
It’s been reported on Friday that the body in charge of the top two divisions in Germany are set to back-track over matches being played on a Monday.
Fan groups across the country have accused the DFB of not thinking of supporters, with a large section of Borussia Dortmund fans boycotting their match against Augsburg on February 26 over the fixture scheduling.
Even the players seem to be against those particular games, with Frankfurt’s Marco Russ telling reports: “I completely understand the fans. I don’t think it’s right that there are games on Monday night.”
Bild are suggesting that the Football League will listen to those fan groups, but even if they do agree to stop playing matches on Monday, those fixtures will still stay until the 2021/22 season.
