In a recent report, The Athletic revealed that Crystal Palace ace Michael Olise could be open to joining Manchester City in the upcoming transfer window. It has been stated that the French wide player would prefer a move to Man City rather than Manchester United this summer.

The 22-year-old is having a decent campaign at Selhurst Park after putting in a string of impressive displays for the Eagles in the final third. Olise has featured in 17 matches for Crystal Palace this season, finding the back of the net nine times and picking up four assists in the process across various competitions.

The French sensation has proven his worth in the opponent’s half as he is averaging 2.9 shots, 1.9 key passes and 2.2 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball based on his pass completion rate of 83% in the English top flight (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the London club will run out in the summer of 2027. Hence, Man City would have to make a sizable offer if they want to bring Olise to the Etihad Stadium later this year.

Should Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Make A Move For Olise This Summer?

Olise is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few decent plays for others around him on the offensive end of the field. He is a pure striker of the ball and generates a lot of power with his shot attempts.

The French sensation mainly operates as a right-sided wide player but can also play in the number ten position if told to do so. We can expect him to enhance the quality of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola‘s first XI.

At 22, Olise has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Hence, Man City should consider making a move to bring him to the Etihad Stadium in the summer transfer window.

Guardiola would be the ideal man to oversee Olise’s development and unlock the best out of the player in the long run. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Mancunian club.
