Both Kicker and Bild report that Hertha Berlin are set to sign Fabian Reese from Holstein Kiel as a replacement for Davie Selke, who is expected to join 1.FC Köln.

Reese is reportedly already in Berlin to agree the deal with a medium six figure sum most likely being the price for the 25-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer. Reese has five goals and four assists in 16 matches in the first half of the season for Kiel. The attacker moved from Schalke to his hometown Kiel in January 2020 and has scored a total of 11 goals in his 102 matches for the club. The German was also being courted by Köln in Germany and Cremonese, Cagliari and Genoa in Italy.

As well as filling the gap left by Selke, Reese can also play as a winger which helps find a replacement for the departed Dong-jun Lee who joined Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in South Korea.

Hertha currently sit 15th in the table joint on points with VfB Stuttgart who are currently in the relegation playoff spot and have only won three games this season having struggling to find the cutting edge to win them games drawing five in the first half of the season.
