The home side making a bright start but very quickly that faded, as Eddie Howe’s side took control and the flowing football (plus goals!) from the visitors, far too much for Burnley to handle.

Here are a few interesting stats that have followed that Burnley v Newcastle United match.

Anthony Gordon now has 10 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League so far this season, becoming just the third Newcastle player to hit double figures for both goals and assists in a single PL campaign after Andy Cole in 1993-94 (34 goals, 13 assists) and Ruel Fox in 1994-95 (10 goals, 11 assists).

Alexander Isak has scored 20 Premier League goals this season including ten in his past nine appearances. He has become the fifth different Newcastle player to score 20 or more goals in a Premier League season, after Alan Shearer (four times), Andy Cole (1993-94), Peter Beardsley (1993-94) and Les Ferdinand (1995-96).

Newcastle United have won their last six Premier League matches against Burnley.

Burnley have won twice in the league against Newcastle United in over 41 years.

Making it six Premier League wins in a row against Burnley, it is only the second time NUFC have done this in the PL era.  NUFC also got six wins in a row against Spurs between 2006 and 2008.

At Turf Moor, Burnley have won just twice against Newcastle United in the top tier since 1974.

Newcastle United have now scored more than twice as many (80 v 39) Premier League goals as Burnley have done so far this season.

Newcastle United have now have scored at least four goals in nine different league games this season for the first time since 1951-52 (also nine times).

Eddie Howe took charge of his 100th Premier League game for Newcastle United, recording his 49th win in the process. Only Kevin Keegan (55) has more wins for the Magpies as a manager in their first 100 top flight games.
