Manchester United’s hopes of finishing in the top four this season ended with a draw against Burnley at home.

As has been the case all season, this outing also highlighted a number of issues plaguing United. Andre Onana’s tendency to lose all focus in the blink of an eye certainly needs to be studied.

However, for now, our focus is on the Red Devils’ toothless attack that had only one goal to show for from 27 shots against Burnley. Marcus Rashford’s absence further highlighted just how many less-than-impressive forward options Ten Hag has at his disposal.

United are expected to address the attacking department before the new season. But with Champions League football all but out of the picture, the Premier League giants’ pockets are unlikely to be too deep this summer.

Further, the transfer market is also not filled with many reasonable attacking options. Amid this, Juventus are working on two deals that would further make things trickier for United.

The Peoples Person have previously covered United’s interest in Juventus duo Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic. The pair have been on the club’s radar since their Fiorentina days.

Both Chiesa (7 league goals) and Vlahovic (16 league goals) have enjoyed an impressive 2023/24 season for the Old Lady and could easily improve United’s attack in the next campaign.

Having said that, it is not going to be easy to rope in either of the two as Juventus are keen on renewing their contracts. The Italian winger’s contract in Turin expires in 2025 while the Serbian will be free to depart in the summer of 2026.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Juventus are working on finding an agreement with the attacking duo over new deals.

United might not get to rejuvenate their forward line with Juve stars, but they may address their defensive concerns by getting their hands on their centre-back, Gleison Bremer.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the United target could be made available for sale due to a ‘verbal pact’. It is understood the Brazilian defender’s contract includes a release clause worth around €60m.

The clause is only valid from the summer of 2025, but there is a mutual understanding between the parties to consider bids falling in the same region this summer as well.
