With a new contract until 2022, Kingsley Coman now feels free to play his best football.
The Bayern Munich winger committed his long-term future to the club in December shortly before the winter break.
Coman’s stay in Munich has been mixed but the 21-year-old finally feels ready to deliver his best.
“I have a good feeling now,” the Frenchman told kicker.
“There are no speculations around me and I have no reason to wait. I’m free in my head now. I also need to feel that I’m allowed to make mistakes.
“The club has always treated me very well. When they offered me a long term contract, I was in favour right away.
“I want to prove myself here, leave my mark and spend many great years in Munich.”
Coman has already played for three of Europe’s powerhouses, swapping Paris Saint-Germain for Juventus before leaving for Munich in 2015.
With Jupp Heynckes in charge, Coman has been used fairly often as part of a rotation policy.
However, experienced wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry are now 33 and 34 respectively and have not been offered new deals by the club.
It seems Coman will be an essential piece to the Bayern puzzle from now on.
