Deportivo de La Coruña winger Fede Cartabia is one of the latest famous names to emerge from the Paradise Papers leak.

During the last few weeks, over 13 million documents were acquired by German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung in which a number of wealthy figures from around the world have been implicated in the use of complex financial structures to conceal large amounts of money from tax authorities in so-called offshore tax havens.

One of those figures is Cartabia, who has been exposed by Spanish television network La Sexta as being a shareholder of a company in Malta.

The company – known as Cirera Investments Limited – was registered on 1 August 2013, just five days after Cartabia made his debut for Valencia in a pre-season friendly against AC Milan.

However, the 24-year-old Argentina U20 international denies having any involvement with the company.

Another interesting name to crop up in the latest leak is José Antonio Lopetegui, brother of Spain’s national team coach Julen, who has been named as the director of a company registered in Barbados in April 2016 known as JLG Holding Inc.

As well as having a famous brother, Lopetegui has chaired four of the companies which manage the rights of Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal.
