An insight into the eagerness of a leading summer transfer target on the part of La Liga giants Barcelona to link up with the club has this weekend been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of transfer insider Matteo Moretto, and points towards Xavi Simons being the player in question.

The name of attacker Simons has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Barcelona over the course of recent days.

This comes after confirmation was forthcoming in the media that the Dutch international has been earmarked as a leading target on the part of Xavi and his Blaugrana coaching staff.

Amid their ongoing search for reinforcements in the attacking third, Simons, who is expected to be available on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, is viewed as the ideal cut-price option.

All of a Barca persuasion, in turn, will no doubt be delighted to hear of the latest word stemming from the camp of the 21-year-old himself.

As per the aforementioned Matteo Moretto, speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s ‘Daily Briefing‘, Simons considers Barcelona to be his ‘home’.

As much comes after the talented youngster spent the formative years of his fledgling career developing on the books at La Masia.

He is therefore eager to secure a move back to Catalunya’s capital in the summer, with the Camp Nou brass ready to do their utmost to ensure that precisely that comes to fruition.
