Everton have outlined their position on a potential Jack Harrison transfer, with Leeds United potentially needing to sell top assets this summer.

One game against either Southampton or West Bromwich Albion is all that stands in the way of Leeds' return to the top flight, after just one season away from it.

Their bulldozing performance against Norwich City on Thursday night secured their spot at Wembley for the Championship play-off final.

Whatever happens at the home of English football, the work won't stop. Preparations for the quick turnaround between seasons will begin, and the transfer activity will fully kick into gear.

Like his parent club, Leeds loanee Harrison's future is unsteady at the moment, but Everton, who he has been with since the start of the season, have announced their transfer plans for the winger.

Everton lay out Jack Harrison transfer stance

The Toffees have announced that the 27-year-old will return to Elland Road at the end of the campaign, but that they will discuss his future with the Whites after the play-off final dust has settled.

In a statement on the club's website, they said: "Everton will continue dialogue with Leeds over the future of forward Harrison when the Yorkshire club’s current Championship play-off campaign is completed."

Manager Sean Dyche commented on Harrison's future on Merseyside after their recent 1-0 win over already relegated Sheffield United. "We will wait and see," said the former Burnley boss, via Liverpool World.

"The first thing was making sure we were safe, then once we were safe we could re-evaluate the internal truth with the financial side of what we can do, so that will be an ongoing process.

"He has done very well. His tactical understanding is excellent, in two roles really, wide or in the number 10 spot.

"His work ethic is excellent too. I still think there is more with his talent because he is very talented – we see it in training and I have spoken to him about unlocking that. Over the season I think he has done very well for us and been a consistent performer."

Leeds must find a way to offload Jack Harrison, if Daniel Farke doesn't want him

Many of the players that the new United boss, at the time, felt weren't going to be part of his squad going forward were temporarily shipped away from Elland Road. Harrison was part of a long list of these departures that also included the likes of Brenden Aaronson and Marc Roca.

It's essential that Leeds move these players on in the summer, permanently, if Farke still doesn't see them in his plans.

The Daily Mail reported that the Whites may need to sell up to £100 million worth of players if they fail to win promotion, in order to comply with the EFL's financial rules.

Top flight clubs are reportedly expecting a: "fire sale," if they don't win at Wembley, and the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray will be the best bits of meat that the vulturous Premier League sides try to pick off the carcasse of Leeds.

The easiest way for them to generate some money is to find new homes for the players that didn't contribute at all in this season's team, and Harrison should be one of those players that are on the chopping block.
