In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Liverpool are showing interest in Real Sociedad attacker Takefusa Kubo. It has been stated that the Reds are eyeing a move to get the Japan international on board in the summer.

Kubo’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football

The 22-year-old is enjoying a decent campaign at the Spanish club as he has put in a series of impressive displays for them on the right wing. Kubo has found the back of the net on seven occasions and secured four assists in 35 matches for Real Sociedad this season across all competitions.

The Japanese talent has been a consistent performer in the final third based on his average of 1.8 shots, 2.1 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game in La Liga. He has also been careful when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after completing 80.5% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at Real Sociedad will expire in the summer of 2029. Thus, the Reds would have to launch a big offer if they are serious about recruiting the Japanese talent later this year.

What Will Kubo Bring To Liverpool?

Kubo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs out on the flanks. He can strike the ball with venom and accuracy from long range. The Japan international can also engineer some meaningful chances for his teammates up top. He mainly plays as a right-sided wide player but can also function on the left wing or play as an attacking midfielder down the middle if asked to do so.

We can expect Kubo to bring more goals and creativity to Liverpool‘s attacking department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at Anfield in the coming seasons. The Japanese talent might even help the Merseyside club compete across all fronts in the future.

At 22, Kubo has got a bright future ahead of him and could grow into a world-class winger someday. Therefore, Liverpool should focus on getting a deal done for him when the transfer window commences at the end of this campaign. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in England.
