Wolves head to Anfield for the last weekend of the season in a fortnight’s time, which will act as Klopp’s curtain call after nine years and several trophies on Merseyside.

Sunday’s 4-2 win over Tottenham served as the German’s penultimate home match in the dugout and he insisted that his emotions were kept in check.

“I would be lying if right now I said I was at the highest level, to do this and that - I cannot pretend,” he told Sky Sports.

“I was not emotional today because I know I have another [home game], that’s how it is.

“I know that Wolves will be tricky, a tricky day. It’s in two weeks time, I shouldn’t worry today. For now it’s good and we will see how that day [goes].

“Maybe we’ll be lucky and it’ll be pouring down with rain so we can’t stay outside after the game! You wouldn’t see [the tears].”

Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson, Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott scored as Liverpool all-but guaranteed their third-place finish in the Premier League.

"Anfield was a special place today again because the boys played outstanding, until we didn't," Klopp added.

"At 4-0 up I made the changes and we lost organisation definitely in that moment and then you could see how good Tottenham could be if we would have let them before.

"[But] we were good in pretty much all areas. The goals were outstanding.

"Mo was outstanding and really happy for him that he could play the way he played today. We can see what he's capable of."
