Liverpool are reportedly watching former Manchester United trialist and Russian wonderkid Sergey Pinyaev ahead of the summer transfer window, but face a significant hurdle in any potential deal.
The 19-year-old, who is the Russian national team's youngest ever debutant, has attracted interest from some of Europe's elite sides following a switch to Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2023.
The six-cap international is an attacker capable of playing anywhere across the front line but usually takes residence on the wing. He was even compared to Cristiano Ronaldo by former Arsenal forward Andrei Arshavin.

Unsurprisingly, the world's biggest clubs have taken a keen interest in the teenager, with Liverpool among the sides touted with a potential switch according to one report.
As per HITC, Liverpool are one of the clubs who have 'watched' Pinyaev, along with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Man Utd
The Red Devils actually had Pinyaev on trial in 2020 but were unable to sign the youngster due to issues regarding a work permit.
However, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, it's thought that the British government would prevent any club from the United Kingdom signing a player from Russia at present - including Pinyaev.
Therefore, clubs like Man City and Chelsea could use their 'sister clubs' such as Girona and Strasbourg to make a deal possible. Liverpool are set to acquire another club in the future following Michael Edwards' return but have not got a 'sister club' at the moment.
A deal for Pinyaev looks extremely unlikely given the obstacles in the way of a potential transfer, but the Reds are expected to strengthen their attacking options this summer.
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing wingers in the upcoming transfer window, with Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Pedro Neto supposedly on the club's radar.
