Manchester United have confirmed that Raphaël Varane will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Varane joined United in a £41m switch from Real Madrid in 2021, and went on to win the Carabao Cup during his time at Old Trafford.
The 31-year-old has so far made 93 appearances for the club, scoring two goals, with 30 of those outings coming this season.
But injury issues have restricted the French World Cup winner’s contribution in recent months, and he will leave this summer and become a free agent.
Prior to his move to England, Varane spent 10 years with Real Madrid, with whom he won four Champions Leagues, three LaLiga titles and a number of other trophies, having joined the Spanish giants in 2011 from French club Lens.
