Manchester United have had a 2023/24 to forget for the most part, yet the Red Devils could still finish the season with silverware.

Despite dismal Premier League and European campaigns, Erik ten Hag's side have reached the FA Cup final where they will face local rivals Manchester City. However, even a victory at Wembley may not be enough to keep the Dutch coach in his job.

Pressure is mounting on Ten Hag after a difficult season and there is a real possibility he will be dismissed from his post before the 2024/25 campaign commences. If that were the case, Man Utd would have a new head coach heading into pre-season this summer.

Here are the Red Devils' pre-season plans as things stand.

Man Utd have already announced the bulk of their pre-season plans and it all kicks off with a trip to Norway to face Rosenborg on 15 July. With the Copa America and Euro 2024 final taking place the day prior, some of the club's stars may be unavailable for the trip.

The Red Devils then face a trip to Scotland before heading off to the United States for three matches as things stand. Real Betis are one of their opponents in North America, with battles against familiar Premier League foes also set up.

Of course, Man Utd could be involved in the Community Shield on 6 August - three days after their final US friendly - should they beat Man City in the final of the FA Cup.

Man Utd's 2024/25 pre-season confirmed schedule

After their trip to Norway to face Rosenborg in mid-July, Man Utd travel to Edinburgh to face Rangers at Murrayfield Stadium on 20 July. The Red Devils haven't clashed with the Scottish giants since a Champions League encounter in 2010.

It's off to the United States for Man Utd after their battle with the Glasgow club and they start their American tour with a clash against old foes Arsenal on 27 July in California. The two clubs faced off in 2023/24 pre-season, a game Ten Hag's side won 2-0.

Spanish side Real Betis are next up for the Red Devils, another clash taking place in California just four days after the meeting with Arsenal. United will finish up their time in the United States by facing rivals Liverpool in another friendly, with the game taking place in Columbia, South Carolina.
