The Erik ten Hag era at Manchester United may well be into its final act approaching the end of the 2023/24 season.

In truth, the remaining games of Man Utd's 2023/24 season are unlikely to decide Ten Hag's future. The Red Devils will not compete in the Champions League next term and there's a chance United slip from sixth place before the campaign draws to a close.

Ten Hag's side conceded late to draw 1-1 at home to Burnley last weekend and are back on the road this weekend as they wrap up the gameweek away at a red-hot Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The Dutch coach is still without a whole host of defenders and their creative talisman is an injury doubt for this fixture. With that in mind, here's how Ten Hag could set his United side up at Selhurst Park.

GK: Andre Onana - It's now eight games without a clean sheet for Onana, though the summer arrival certainly hasn't been helped by a porous structure ahead of him.

RB: Diogo Dalot - One-v-one specialist Aaron Wan-Bissaka should be used on the left to mitigate the threat of Man Utd target Michael Olise, leaving Dalot to start down his natural flank.

CB: Jonny Evans - Ten Hag is without a litany of centre-backs, but elder statesman Evans is fit again to provide some experience in defence.

CB: Harry Maguire - Maguire is a shoo-in for Monday night's game where he could have his work cut out against a Palace attack which is starting to purr under Oliver Glasner.

LB: Aaron Wan Bissaka - Wan-Bissaka has enjoyed an extended run in the team due to United's defensive injuries. Despite his increased minutes in 2024, the full-back could be on the chopping block this summer.

CM: Casemiro - The Brazilian has done a job but not much more for United at centre-back and should now return to a midfield role thanks to Evans' return.

CM: Kobbie Mainoo - There hasn't been much respite for Mainoo since he broke into the team and he'll be expected to start again on Monday with Scott McTominay a doubt. Christian Eriksen will not be partnering Casemiro.

RW: Antony - After netting his first Premier League goal of the season last weekend, Antony is likely to keep his place down the right with Marcus Rashford missing out again.

AM: Bruno Fernandes - United's talisman is a fresh injury concern, but it'd be a surprise if he didn't make Monday's XI. "Never rule him out for any game and he is giving his best to be available," Ten Hag said on Thursday.

LW: Alejandro Garnacho - Anthony Martial is back in United training, but he won't be starting Monday's game over Garnacho.

ST: Rasmus Hojlund - Hojlund netted for the first time in a Premier League game since February during United's 4-2 win over Sheffield Utd ten days ago. The Dane still has to prove his impressive run of form at the start of the year wasn't merely a purple patch.
