Manchester City are on the look out for a new striker, having missed out on Alexis Sanchez’s signing in the January transfer window.
Pep Guardiola’s side were determined to land the Arsenal striker in a bid to beef up their attacking options – but have almost certainly missed out on the Chile international after Manchester United gazumped their wage offer.
And The Independent are claiming that the Etihad Stadium outfit are still keen to sign a forward, with Sergio Agüero’s long-term future at City looking increasingly fraught.
They believe that the Argentina international is getting ever more frustrated with his peripheral role in the first team and could look to move in the summer.
The club see Gabriel Jesus as their number one goalscorer going forward, but are keen to bring in a back-up.
There are no names mentioned in the story, but a piece from the Manchester Evening News in the week suggested Antoine Griezmann as a potential recruit.
