Jamal Musiala and Jude Bellingham are among the most hotly tipped Ballon d’Or winners of the future. Both enrapture fans and pundits alike, with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher idolising Musiala even more. The former defender has even made a spectacular comparison.

On Tuesday evening, it was hard to tell that Jamal Musiala had actually gone into the game with an injury. The Bayern youngster was as playful and courageous as ever and dribbled his way to a penalty to make it 2:1 at the interval. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was more than impressed by the attacking player’s performance and emphasised his abilities as an individualist.

„He’s unique, you don’t see many players in midfield who can dribble like that. You just don’t see that. Jude Bellingham, who is a fantastic player, is completely different. There are very few players, if any, in European football who play like that,“ the former centre-back explained in an interview with CBS Sports.

Carragher chooses Musiala over Bellingham

In the past, Musiala has been compared to Lionel Messi by one or two experts. Carragher, however, is reminded of another Argentinian legend: „It reminds you of watching Maradona as a kid when you see players passing players,“ said the former professional.

While this won’t go down quite as well on the island, Carragher admitted to being a bigger fan of the German international in the Musiala-Bellingham comparison: „I love watching him play. I probably enjoy watching him play more than Jude Bellingham,“ he emphasised.
