According to TBR Football, the Canaries are set to compete for the signing of the 29-year-old this summer.

The forward is set to be available as a free agent with his Bournemouth deal expiring at the end of the campaign, having never really had a chance of Premier League football with the Cherries.

However, the Norfolk outfit face competition from East Anglian rivals Ipswich Town, as well as Middlesbrough, Watford, Portsmouth and Derby County.

Lowe has contributed nine goals and three assists from 34 appearances in the league so far this term, with Swansea destined for a mid-table finish in the Championship.

Norwich City will be in the market for a new forward this summer

FLW’sNorwich fan pundit Zeke Downes believes that the club will be searching to strengthen their attacking options in the upcoming transfer market.

However, he is unsure whether a move for Lowe is the kind of deal new sporting director Ben Knapper will be targeting.

“I’m not 100 per cent sure on Jamal Lowe and what he’s been up to recently, but I know he was a really highly-rated player when he was younger, a few seasons ago,” Downes told Football League World.

“It might be worth a punt, but I'm not sure whether we will.

“I think with the new sporting director, I think he may end up going in another direction, but I wouldn’t be against it.

“We definitely need another striker.

“I think Sydney Van Hooijdonk will not be staying for obvious reasons - he’s had about two minutes of football in total. "Adam Idah is probably coming back, but I can see him leaving. “So we’ll have another space up-front, Abu Kamara will probably come back from Portsmouth so he will be another option as well.

“I’m not sure, but I think we will definitely be looking for another striker/winger.”

Norwich City's promotion hopes

Norwich have all but confirmed their place in the play-offs with one game to go.

A point this weekend against relegation-threatened Birmingham City will guarantee their place inside the top six, but even a defeat could be enough.

David Wagner’s side moved into fifth place last weekend with their 1-1 draw against Bristol City.

The club’s transfer business this summer will likely depend on which division they are competing in, as a Premier League return will come with a big financial boost.

Jamal Lowe could be a good Adam Idah replacement for Norwich City

If Adam Idah does depart for Celtic on a permanent basis this summer, then Lowe could be a smart option to replace the Irishman.

The Bournemouth forward will be available as a free agent, which makes him a relatively risk-free option.

The Jamaica international is also a Championship experienced forward, and can provide cover and competition for the likes of Josh Sargent.

However, it’s unlikely Norwich could benefit from his signing if they do gain promotion, or if he is seen as a replacement for Sargent, as the American is a much higher quality of striker - as you'd expect for a £8 million fee.

As a rotational option though who can also play out wide, Lowe would be a solid option for Norwich if they are chasing promotion next season from the Championship, irrespective of the competition they may face.
