Nicolas Jackson has impressed and frustrated Chelsea fans in his first season at Stamford Bridge, with the latter more often being the case.

But there are shoots of hope, despite the striker guilty of missing plenty of big chances.

He has managed to find the net regularly though, and nodded home his 11th goal of the season against Tottenham, reacting first after Cole Palmer’s freekick rebounded off the crossbar.

It takes his goal tally beyond that which Chelsea icon Didier Drogba managed in his first season at the club, and will leave Chelsea hopeful that better is yet to come from the Senegalese striker.

He loves a goal against Tottenham too, with that header taking his goals against Spurs this season to four, a mammoth 38% of all of his strikes this season.

Perhaps more impressively, only Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink, another household name at Stamford Bridge, has ever managed more goals in a single season against the Lilywhites (with five).

Maybe Jackson is the man to lead Chelsea’s attack after all.
