Nottingham Forest have reportedly been unsuccessful in their appeal against a Premier League points deduction.

That's according to the Athletic's David Ornstein who has revealed on Tuesday that the City Ground side will remain in 17th place having failed to argue a case against their four-point deduction.

Forest were given the four-point deduction back in March having admitted to breaching the Premier League's rules on Profit and Sustainability.

Despite that admission of guilt, Forest then appealed to an independent commission at a tribunal at the end of April.

That commission has now come confirmed that the original decision will stand.

Forest are in 17th - one place above the relegation zone - and three points clear of Luton with two games to go.
