American sportswear giant Nike will continue supplying the national France football teams with swoosh-adorned blue kits until 2034, the French FA officially announced this Tuesday. The partnership also includes a specific aspect dedicated to amateur football and referees. The French FA organized a tender process from March to April to determine which brand would supply Les Bleus from 2026 to 2034. Nike equipped all French teams and national youth teams for women and men since 2010 and will continue to do so for the foreseeable.

In 15 years of partnership between Nike and the FFF, we are proud of what we have accomplished together‘, Nike’s statement reads. ‘We look forward to continuing our partnership and serving as a catalyst for growth and investment in amateur football in France, accelerating the growth of women’s football at all levels, and further amplifying the FFF as an international icon of performance and style.

Adidas outpriced again

L’Equipe broke the news earlier tonight. According to the outlet, Adidas has been outpriced by Nike, like they were with the German FA, which are due to receive close to €100m per year from Nike. The daily understands that the French FA could be due a sum close to that record amount from Nike. However, France Info believe the contract between Nike and France will surpass the €100m kit deal between the German FA and the American brand. It is undoubtedly a major success for the French FA and its president Philippe Diallo, who took over from Noël Le Graët last year when the latter was embroiled in cases of sexual misconduct, bullying and harassment.

I am particularly proud and happy of Nike’s renewed confidence in the French FA’, Diallo said. ‘The renewal of our partnership and the agreement rank the French FA among the very leading sports organizations in the world. When I was elected, I committed to ensure the sustainability of the French FA, in all its dimensions: societal, diversity, development of high-level practice, women’s football and amateur football. This partnership with Nike, with whom we share a common vision and objectives, gives us the means to actively contribute to it, at least for the next decade! »
