Paris Saint-Germain have been crowned Ligue 1 Champions with three games to spare after second-placed Monaco fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Lyon.

The French giants, who are also in the last four of the Champions League, blew the chance to win the title on Saturday night with a 3-3 draw with Le Havre, but it was only a matter of time and just 24 hours later, a slip up from Monaco ensured they were crowned Champions.

It means that with three games left to play, they sit 12 points clear of second placed Monaco and cannot be caught, confirming their second straight title and their 10th Ligue 1 win in 12 seasons.

Though spearheaded by Kylian Mbappé’s 24 goals, enough to likely land him the golden boot, Luis Enrique’s side will have to find a way to make do without him next season should he confirm his move to Real Madrid, which is considered one of the worst kept secrets in the sport.

For now though, they are celebrating success together, and could do so again next month should they finally be able to crack the Champions League code.
