Manchester City are keen to offload him again in the summer and are open to solutions, which includes interest from Leeds.

Phillips’ former club have been mooted as a possible destination for him in the summer.

The midfielder shone under Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road, form which pushed him into the England squad.

He is on a big pay packet at the Etihad however and whether Leeds would be willing to meet Phillips’ demands is unclear.

Leeds would also likely need to make sure of promotion to the Premier League this season to become a viable destination for Phillips.

Manchester City though would be open to Leeds as somewhere Phillips could move to.
