Scorers: Tillman 47′, White 65′, Borna Barišić 75′

Looking to close the gap on the top of the league, points were at a premium for the Ibrox side.

Attacking flair was lacking in the opening exchanges of a very physical first half.

Rangers looked to push for the opening strike, but the final ball appeared to be lacking for the Glasgow outfit.

After 45 cagey minutes, the first half looked to be winding down to an uneventful conclusion, but the hosts had other plans.

First half substitute Malik Tillman, who joined the action inside ten minutes to replace the injured John Lundstram, managed to get his head on the end of a dinked Todd Cantwell cross to open the scoring in first half stoppage time.

Taking a lead into the break was exactly what Rangers deserved after outplaying Ross County throughout the opening interval.

It was much of the same in the second half, with Rangers in full control of the tempo.

Ross County attempted to mount an attacking push, but struggled to penetrate the resolute Rangers rearguard.

There was a twist in the tale however, as Jordan White headed home an equaliser in front of the travelling County fans.

Over an hour of Rangers dominance was undone, forcing the home side to reignite their attacking thrust.

Michael Beale’s side received the stroke of luck they needed in the final fifteen minutes however, when Borna Barišić’s free-kick took a big deflection before drifting into the back of the net.

With their lead reclaimed, the Gers battened down the hatches and held on for a fifth straight victory.
