An altogether concerning update surrounding the wellbeing of a headline member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this weekend been forthcoming online.
The player in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni.
France international Tchouaméni was of course dealt a heavy personal blow last week.
As much came upon confirmation surfacing that the 24-year-old’s early departure from Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final 2nd-leg meeting with Bayern Munich had come owing to an injury.
Ensuing medical tests revealed a stress fracture in Tchouaméni’s foot, throwing his status for next month’s tournament finale firmly up in the air.
Reports over recent days had pointed towards the former Monaco man making swift progress in his recovery, with his presence against Borussia Dortmund therefore looking increasingly likely.
If the latest word stemming from his home country this weekend is anything to go by, however, then the truth of the matter, in fact, is quite the opposite.
As per a report from L’Équipe, Tchouaméni this week visited a specialist doctor in the USA, for a 2nd opinion on his injury.
And the response proved far from what Real Madrid were hoping for, with the versatile midfielder now viewed as a major doubt not only for the Champions League final, but France’s Euro 2024 group stage opener, too.
