Reports of 'exceptional' Liverpool star's EXIT refuse to go away; talks now expected | OneFootball

Talks are reportedly now expected between Liverpool and Galatasaray. It’s not the first time we’ve seen similar, either.

Aspor in Turkey claims Galatasaray now expect talks with Liverpool at the end of the season. Ryan Gravenberch is the subjec - the Turkish giants have him on their shortlist.

There is a bit of a catch here, though. Galatasaray would almost certainly requie Champions League football to make this one anywhere near possible.

That means winning the Super Lig. They're currently in line to do that - four points clear at the top - but it's not confirmed.

Should they win the title, though, Galatasaray will move for Gravenberch. That means a difficult decision is ahead for Liverpool.

This isn't the first time reports have emerged from Turkey, either. Fotomac claimed similar last month, though further reports then suggested Gravenberch has no intention of leaving Liverpool.

In what's going to be a summer of change, however, nothing can be ruled out.

Ryan Gravenberch's future

Gravenberch hasn't had a stellar season. It's been hit and miss, we'd say - but lots of reasons to be positive about his future. Even just last weekend, the Dutchman put in a performance that showed his massive potential.

And Gravenberch is still very young. He only turned 22 this year - judging him as a finished product is just wrong, in all honesty. Jurgen Klopp called him an 'exceptional' talent when he arrived and he's certainly shown that kind of potential at times.

The real question, though, is whether Liverpool can extract that potential. There are already so many midfielders at the club and more may yet arrive.

We imagine it'll depend on Arne Slot and what he thinks of Gravenberch. Well, that and whatever fee clubs are willing to front.

It's difficult to imagine Galatasaray fronting £30m+, admittedly, and if they're unable to do that, Gravenberch surely stays. That's how things likely play out this summer but any interest in the midfielder will force Liverpool to consider it.

Even if, ultimately, he remains at Anfield.
