Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to host Arsenal at home in the Premier League this weekend. They faced a 0-4 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United in the previous game. Hence, they will aim to script a comeback when they take onto the field on Sunday.

Spurs are fifth in the domestic points table with 60 points after 32 games. They are just six points off the fourth position and have two two-game advantage. Hence, they cannot afford to drop any further points if they want to confirm a Champions League berth for next season.

Defence

Though goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario will be retained for sure, he needs to be more commanding in his area. Pedro Porro was taken off during the half-time against Newcastle United but he is fit to start as the right full-back.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven continue to form the heart of the defence. However, the centre-back duo needs to put on a better show if they wish to keep Arsenal’s attackers in check. Right-back Destiny Udogie is not available as he underwent a quad surgery. In his absence, Ben Davies should be operating in the concerned role.

Midfield

Expect Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to come into the playing XI in place of Rodrigo Bentancur to form the holding midfield duo with Yves Bissouma.

While James Maddison continues in the middle of the attack, changes are supposed to happen in the flanks. Son Heung-min should be playing on the left wing, leaving no place for Timo Werner in the XI. On the other side of the pitch, Brennan Johnson is likely to make way for Dejan Kulusevski.

Attack

Richarlison has finally recovered from a serious knee injury and will lead the line straight away. However, it will be interesting to see how he does in the high-profile game.

Manor Solomon (knee), Fraser Forster (foot) and Ryan Sessegnon (thigh) are the other notable absentees.
