It’s been a season to forget for Sheffield United, but their performances have ensured that they will be remembered long after they leave the top flight in two week’s time.

Their relegation was confirmed last week, but they looked set to leave on a high when they took an early lead against Nottingham Forest.

As so often this season, though, they couldn’t keep the backdoor shut and a brace from Callum Hudson-Odoi as well as a goal from Ryan Yates saw them staring down the barrel of yet another defeat.

They set a new record in the process, with their three goals conceded taking their season’s tally to 100, the most ever by a Premier League side in a 38 game season,

Swindon Town also managed the feat, but in a 42 game campaign.

Worse still, there are still two games left to play, and given that Chris Wilder’s side have not kept a clean sheet in 17 games, they look likely to hold the record by themselves come the final day.
