Barcelona will depend for the most part on sales to know what reinforcements they can bring in this summer, but manager Xavi Hernandez appears to be clear on what he wants in the final third next season.

In terms of their current options, the only forward Barcelona are committed to retaining is Lamine Yamal, whose performances have been one of the few saving graces of the season. Vitor Roque’s future is up in the air, while Barcelona will consider offers for Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and Raphinha, while Joao Felix’s continuity is also uncertain at this point.

Should they be able to spend, Xavi’s preference, as per Sport, is Nico Williams. The Athletic Club star has a €50m release clause, and would require Barcelona to be back in the black for their salary limit. Sporting Deco is in agreement, and Williams represents a strong option on the left, but can also play on the other flank.

Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is another who has been frequently linked to Barcelona, and Xavi is supposedly a fan, but his €100m price tag is an insurmountable obstacle. Meanwhile RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo is another who has been frequently related to Barcelona over the last few years. MD have now reported too that Olmo and Williams are Xavi’s preferences, omitting Kvaratskhelia.

Previous reports have dismissed the links to Kvaratskhelia, as simply part of his agent’s attempt to secure a better contract for the Georgian winger. Meanwhile the other two still look far-fetched options, with Barcelona requiring several deals to fall the way they want them to.
