Girona manager Michel has admitted that he wants to sign both Oriol Romeu and Eric Garcia from FC Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

“I am very clear, I would like Eric and Oriol Romeu to return to Girona. They will be top signings and I would like them to come back,” Michel said in a recent interview, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Romeu up for sale

Romeu arrived at Barça only last summer, arriving from Girona after a solid campaign. However, the veteran midfielder has struggled to replicate his form at his boyhood club.

Now close to being out of favour, Romeu has been widely expected to leave Barcelona in the summer, especially with the club planning to sign a top pivot midfielder.

Girona, for long, have been linked with the potential re-signing of the Spaniard and Michel has now gone on record stating that he wants Romeu along with Garcia.

Barcelona could retain Garcia

Eric Garcia is on loan at Girona from Barcelona and has enjoyed a spectacular campaign for the Catalan club.

The defender has played an integral role in Michel’s side being able to secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season.

As such, Michel is eager to have Garcia back at Girona next season, possibly on loan or a permanent transfer.

However, Barcelona plan on counting on the Spanish international for next season, with manager Xavi Hernandez an admirer of the versatile defender.

So, it remains to be seen how things unfold as far as Garcia is concerned, but Romeu’s move back to Girona could very well go through.
